Lil Win Puts Ibrahim Traoré Movie Up for Sale After Allegedly Rejecting $20,000 Bribe

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has reportedly declined a $20,000 bribe aimed at halting production of his upcoming biopic on Burkina Faso’s interim president, Ibrahim Traoré. In the wake of this, Lil Win has launched a fundraising initiative to keep the project alive.

In a video currently circulating on social media, Lil Win made a public appeal to Ghanaian television stations to acquire exclusive rights to premiere the film. He announced that the rights are available to four TV stations at a cost of GH₵100,000 each.

“This is a new movie. All the TV stations in Ghana should come and purchase the rights. I need only four channels to get the first rights to the movie before we deal with the rest,” Lil Win said in the video.

He continued, “The price is only GH₵100,000. We love you guys—keep supporting us and get your money ready.”

According to Lil Win, once the exclusive premiere rights are sold and aired by the selected TV channels, the movie will subsequently be distributed to other stations and eventually made available on YouTube.

The actor’s bold stance and grassroots funding approach have earned him praise on social media, with many lauding his commitment to creative independence and national pride.
