“I’ll go perform if NPP or CPP call.” I have no political affiliation.
Godsin hitmaker OliveTheBoy has made it clear that he did not support the party or its flagbearer; rather, he was simply at the UPSA auditorium yesterday to perform at the NDC youth manifesto launch.
The rapidly emerging artist had the opportunity to perform a few of his songs prior to the launch, but others interpreted it as an endorsement of John Mahama and the NDC.
Many people think these musicians are taking advantage of the election year to cash in, and they would gladly endorse any party to gain financial support.
OliveTheBoy, however, responded to their assertions and charges by saying that he had never supported President Mahama before to the elections.
He came there and fulfilled his end of the bargain since, in his words, the NDC needed and paid for his services.
“I haven’t endorsed NDC,” he declared. It was all business. I got the gig to play at the function. It was exactly like me performing at Accravaganza or Afrochella. It was identical.
In the event that the NPP or any other political party needs his assistance, he said, his doors are still open.
“I’ll go perform if NPP or CPP call.” I have no political affiliation. It was not a recommendation,” he said in closing.
