GHC15 Million Made From Betting Tax So Far – GRA Disclosed
According to the Domestic Tax Revenue Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), they have been able to raise Ghc 15 million since the introduction of the tax on betting. The GRA has announced that they expect this amount to reach Ghc 60 million by the end of the football season.
The tax on betting has two streams: the gross revenue tax (GGR) and the withholding tax. The director of the GRA provided an update on the implementation of the tax, stating that during the first month, they averaged Ghc 20 million for the GGR.
As for the withholding tax, they have just started the betting season, but during the lean season, they averaged Ghc 15 million. The GRA anticipates that this amount will quadruple by May.
