Empress Gifty Files ₵20 Million Defamation Lawsuit Against Nana Agradaa

Gospel Star Seeks Justice Over Alleged Online Slander

Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty sues Nana Agradaa for ₵20 million over defamatory remarks made during a live social media broadcast.

Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Empress Gifty has initiated a defamation lawsuit against Evangelist Patricia Asiedu, known as Nana Agradaa. The suit, filed on May 21, 2025, seeks ₵20 million in damages for alleged defamatory statements made by Agradaa during a live social media broadcast.

Empress Gifty alleges that on May 13, 2025, Nana Agradaa made several defamatory statements about her during a live broadcast on platforms including Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. These remarks, delivered in Twi, included serious allegations about Empress Gifty’s personal and professional life.

Empress Gifty’s legal team argues that the statements made by Nana Agradaa are defamatory per se, meaning they are inherently harmful and do not require further proof of damage.

The lawsuit seeks ₵20 million in damages, aiming to compensate for the harm caused to Empress Gifty’s reputation and to serve as a deterrent against such conduct.
