“You Muslims must die”; 72 years American man says as he stabs 6 years old boy 26 times for being a Muslim

A 72-year-old American man says he stabbed a 6-year-old boy 26 times for being a Muslim.

Following the conflict between Israel and Hamas, a man stabbed a 6-year-old boy and his mother, critically injuring her, because he thought they were Muslims.

According to authorities, the mother, Hanaan Shahin, called 911 early on Saturday morning to report that her landlord in the southwest suburban Plainfield Township was slashing her with a knife.

Wadea Al-Fayoume and Shahin were discovered by the police when they arrived. Each had sustained multiple wounds, the boy 26 times.

They were taken to a nearby hospital, where the mother was listed in critical condition and the boy was declared dead.

Joseph Czuba, a 71-year-old suspect, was apprehended by police after being found outside the house.

First-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of a hate crime, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon were all brought against Czuba.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Department, “detectives were able to establish that both victims in this brutal attack were targeted by the suspect due to their religion of Islam and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis.”
