Gado Yakubu Ninsaw, one of the candidates for the office of Oti Regional Secretary, reportedly passed out after losing the election.
The aspirant who had dressed in all-white regalia in the hope of winning the elections collapsed in amazement when he discovered the voting results did not favor him.
Gado Yakubu reportedly passed out during the counting and before the formal pronouncement when he discovered the voting ballots had gone in favor of his opponent. Some party members who were present at the polling site afterward transported him to the hospital for treatment.
In response to the incident, Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Member of Parliament for Krachi West, urged politicians not to take the game too seriously.
