Former Vikings Defensive Coordinator Adam Zimmer Dies Suddenly at the age of 38.

The son of previous Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has died age the age of 38.

His younger sister, Corri Zimmer White, confirmed his death on her Instagram handle on Tuesday. Adam Zimmer died on Monday, according to her.

“The kindest, sweetest, family loving, sports obsessed soul there ever was,” Zimmer White wrote.

After eight years with the Vikings under his father, Adam Zimmer worked remotely as an offensive analyst for the Cincinnati Bengals this season.

Mendota Heights Police Capt. Wayne Wegener confirmed that officers discovered a deceased man on Monday afternoon after responding to a welfare check at a home near Vikings headquarters where Adam Zimmer was living. There was nothing suspicious about the death, according to Wegener, and the investigation was turned over to the medical examiner for a cause of death determination.

In a statement, Vikings ownership expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family. “We are heartbroken to hear about the passing of Adam Zimmer. Adam was a kind, respectful man, and over his years in Minnesota, it was evident he cared tremendously about his family, his players, his fellow coaches and the Vikings front office staff. Our thoughts are with Mike, Corri, Marki and the entire Zimmer family,”.
